Although tortoises and turtles are both reptiles, there are major differences. Land tortoises have a dome shaped shells, they have short and sturdy feet with bent legs, are herbivores and live from 80-150 years. Sea turtles mostly have flat, streamlined shells, have webbed feet with long claws, are omnivores and live 20-40 years.
